Meet the Electra Glide® Highway King
The Icons Collection is a series that Harley-Davidson® introduced several years ago as an opportunity to recreate classic motorcycles through a modern lens. All of these models are limited to a certain number, and once the last one sells, that’s it. For 2021, we got the Electra Glide® Revival. For 2022, we got the Low Rider® El Diablo, and for 2023, we now get the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Electra Glide® Highway King.
The goal of the Highway King is to recapture the magic of highway touring during the 1960s, and this model is specifically inspired by the iconic 1968 FLH Electra Glide®. While the aesthetic very much reflects the nostalgia of the two-lane road trip, everything about this motorcycle is state-of-the-art and designed to keep you comfortable and in control for miles on end no matter how far you ride.
What’s New for the Electra Glide® Highway King
The 2023 Harley-Davidson® Electra Glide® Highway King near Tulsa is a completely new model and the latest addition to the Icons Collection. It will be limited to just 1,750 units made, and there will be no future revisions of this specific model available next year or beyond.
Performance & Ride Characteristics
The 2023 Harley-Davidson® Electra Glide® Highway King is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 engine. This is the most common engine that H-D® uses on its touring machines. It delivers plenty of performance for the average rider, and while it isn’t the most powerful air-cooled engine that the brand makes, you do have the option of bringing it in like with Milwaukee-Eight® 114 via an upgrade kit. Other notable characteristics include a fairingless design, tall seat positioning, upright rider positioning, saddlebags, advanced rider safety enhancements and no infotainment system.
Colors & Other Customization Options
The 2023 Harley-Davidson® Electra Glide® Highway King near Tulsa features a chrome finish with some black accenting. Pig Trail Harley-Davidson® also gives you the option of two two-tone color schemes that are included in the MSRP. Those are Hi-Fi Orange with White Birch and Hi-Fi Magenta with White Birch. There are no other choices that need to be made at the time of purchase, but there are a wide range of accessories available through the Harley-Davidson® catalog.
Electra Glide® Highway King Versus
The Highway King is a difficult motorcycle to compare as it really is one a kind. The Road King® Special is perhaps the closest comparison if you want to compare it to a bike with a more modern aesthetic.
